Biography of Mark Sanford

Mark Sanford is an American politician and the current Governor of South Carolina.

He was born Marshall Sanford in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to cardiologist Marshall Clement Sanford Sr. and his wife Peggy Pitts. During his childhood, Sanford was an active Boy Scout and even achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He went on to attend Furman University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in In , he obtained his Master of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

After completing his education, Sanford initially worked as an assistant in the real estate agency "Coldwell Bunker." In , he founded his own real estate investment agency, "Norton and Sanford Real Estate Investment," which primarily focused on rentals.

Sanford continues to own this company to this day.
