Early Life and Martial Arts CareerBolo Yeung, a Chinese actor and bodybuilder, was born on July 3, 1938, in Guangzhou.
Like many other young Chinese individuals, Bolo began studying kung fu under local masters. He also developed an interest in acrobatics and weightlifting, eventually becoming the weightlifting champion of China. Despite common belief, Bolo was not a champion in Shotokan Karate and never practiced this form of martial arts.
From the late 1970s to the late 1980s, he became a multiple-time champion in Southeast Asia for Kempo, a form of hand-to-hand combat. According to some records, he also had successful participation in the 1990s.
