Liseanne Forand was appointed as the first President of Shared Services Canada (SSC), a new department responsible for operating and updating the IT infrastructure of the Government of Canada, on August 4, 2011.

    Before joining SSC, Liseanne served as Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and Chief Operating Officer for Service Canada from 2009 to 2011.

    Between 2008 and 2009, she served as Associate Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

    Liseanne began her career in the public service of Canada in 1985, at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), where she served until 1993.

    During that time, she represented DFO on the legal team charged with the arbitration of the maritime boundary between Canada and France off the islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
